Are you on the hunt for the best gaming laptop? Finding a laptop that offers affordability, yet has the necessary processing power to process memory hungry games can be a challenge. This is why we have decided to write a review of the two most recommended gaming laptops. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at these laptops.
Best Gaming Laptop Reviews
Acer Predator 17
Arguably the best gaming laptop for the coming year is the Acer Predator 17 G9-793-79V5. It is widely considered to be the most value for money gaming laptop, as it packs in a lot of power for an inexpensive price tag. The Predator 17 has cooling technology installed, which prevents the laptop from overheating during long gaming sessions.
We found that the keyboard was easy and comfortable to use, and the color rich 17-inch 1080p IPS display with G-sync looks great, and really adds to the overall gaming experience. Some say however that the one down side of the Acer Predator 17 gaming laptop is the loud fans that are needed to cool the laptop, but I didn’t find the fans all that distracting.
But, the $50,000 question is whether it can offer gameplay on “ultra settings”, and the answer is yes it can!
You will notice that the Predator 17 comes with many different ports:
- HDMI 2.0
- DisplayPort 1.2
- Thunderbolt 3
- Four USB 3.0
- SD card slot
- Jacks for headphones
- Kensington lock slot
That’s a lot of ports, which makes it perfect for a whole host of different gamers. As with other Acer gaming laptops, the laptop can be upgraded in the future – if required. All you need to do to gain access to the inner workings of the laptop is to take off two small screws if you want to add more RAM.
Razer Blade Pro
One of the more popular models of gaming laptop is the Razer.
Many gamers use this laptop as a replacement for their desktop, and it has some excellent reviews. It is extremely portable, as it measures just 0.9 inches thick. The 17-inch 1080p display is excellent and offers a superb viewing experience. With the G-Sync-laden 4K touchscreen, it makes use of some of the latest technology.
Something to note however is that it comes with an unusual trackpad placement, as it is placed to the right of the keyboard rather than underneath the keyboard. This may make it more comfier to use, but it may not be to everyone’s liking. Also, the laptop offers around 5 hours of battery time, which may be enough for most, but a truly portable laptop that is able to offer a true desktop replacement should have a little more battery life.
