Multi room audio speakers are quickly becoming a must have gadget for the home. If you are looking for the best wireless multiroom audio speakers, then you’ve come to the right place. So, what speakers should you consider?
What are the Best Wireless Multiroom Audio Speakers?
We think the Sonos Play:1 audio speakers are a true work of art. Sonos have quickly established themselves as the number one producer of high quality audio speakers, and for good reason. They provide high quality equipment for an affordable price. The speakers themselves work seamlessly with music services such as Spotify and Pandora, and the setup process is rather straight forward. In terms of sound quality, Sonos speakers are truly exceptional, despite their small size. You can achieve excellent stereo playback when you pair the speakers with another Sonos Play:1 speaker. It is also possible to control the speakers using an Android or an iOs phone for excellent usability.
There are areas where the speakers could be improved. For example, compared with Bluetooth speakers, the Sonos Play:1 can’t stream all apps direct from your phone, which can be quite frustrating, especially if you are used to using this.
The aim of these Play:1 speakers was to bring the company’s rather expensive equipment to the wider market, and it certainly has been able to achieve this with their wireless speakers.
Bose SoundTouch 10
The Bose SoundTouch 10 are one of the best wireless audio multiroom speakers on the market. They are incredibly stylish, and are suited for use round the home due to their compact profile. The speakers make use of existing Bluetooth technology, so they are excellent for when you need to stream quickly from your device to your speakers.
In terms of usability, the speakers are simple to use, even for novices. The app is able to control the speakers without delay, and I was impressed with the quality of the bass that the speakers were able to produce, given the size of the speakers. While Bose are not as well known as Sonos, they certainly match their speakers with the quality of this offering.
Like the Sonos speakers, you can control the Bose speakers with a phone or tablet which allow you to control the six buttons that the speakers come with. It is possible to setup playlists with these buttons if and when required from sources such as Spotify and Pandora.
Be careful though when playing different genres of music, as some songs can feel quite harsh when played rather loudly. Also, there is no mute button, which we found strange. We found that Sonos Play:1 speakers were able to offer a better quality experience over Wifi.
For those on a budget though, the Bose SoundTouch 10 speakers would be a great purchase, especially if you are looking for wireless speakers with integrated Bluetooth functionality. If you are looking for a more premium product, the best wireless multiroom audio speakers are arguably the Sonos Play:1 speakers.
