If you are looking for an alternative to a GoPro, the TomTom Bandit 4k Action Video Camera is a great alternative that packs in many features that a GoPro doesn’t have. So, with this in mind, we thought we’d take a closer look at this camera and produce our very own TomTom Bandit 4k Action Video Camera Review to see if it truly merits all the hype that it has been receiving.
Taking a closer look at the TomTom Bandit 4k Action Video Camera
The TomTom makes use of the latest high resolution technology with 4k HD. This allows you to capture crisp and clear images when you use the camera.
The battery life is also another feature to take note of. When we tested the TomTom, we managed to get around 3 hours of non stop filming before the battery ran out. This means that it is suitable for use for long sporting sessions.
The camera makes use of built-in sensors, which allow you to monitor Speed, G-force, Altitude, and Rotation. This means you can track your performance, which a GoPro isn’t able to do.
Playing back videos from the device is easy, thanks to the specially designed app which allows instant playback, and it is possible to back up or share your media quickly using this app as well.
The camera has enhanced waterproof capabilities, and it can survive being placed in water up to 40 meters deep. This makes it perfect for surfing and other water pursuits.
The TomTom makes use of data visualization, which allows you to display measurements such as speed and altitude while you watch your media. This is great for action sports and allowing you to improve on areas of a track for example where your speed dips. Analyzing your performance is a fantastic selling point of this camera, and is probably my favorite feature.
Sharing the media you collect is a simple and joyful process to go through. Sometimes getting media off a camera is very difficult, but with the TomTom, this is a process which can take just 2.30 minutes. Simply record your media, view it, make any edits that you’d like to make before sharing the media online…it’s that simple!
You can also introduce effects into your videos such as time lapse and slow motion. We were able to create some stunning effects with little experience. This is a camera perfect for the first time sports camera user.
