Recommendations for the Best Digital Voice Recorders
Sony ICDUX560BLK Stereo Digital Voice Recorder with Built-in USB
The first recorder we would recommend is this Sony ICDUX560BLK Stereo Digital Voice Recorder with Built-in USB. It is a surprisingly small and lightweight voice recorder which is able to capture voices clearly. We found that the recorder was easy to use and to download recordings from. We felt that the built-in USB charger/computer connection is well designed, which means it is quick to transfer files from.
There are many different recording settings that you can use, depending on which situation you are in. You can select from meeting, interview and lecture. You can just leave it on auto, and it still picks up all conversations clearly.
If you’d like to keep your recordings unobtrusive, you can just attach the recorder to your belt, and it still picks up the recordings.
Olympus Digital Voice Recorder WS-853
Another digital voice recorder we would recommend is the Olympus Digital Voice Recorder WS-853. It has long been one of the most high end MP3 recording devices for sale. It has a large 8GB memory, which is double what the Sony recorder can hold above. You can even extend the capacity using a Micro SD card by inserting a card into the integrated slot. It is possible to quickly transfer files and charge the recorder itself using a conventional USB, and there is playback speed control 0.5X – 2.0X.
The recorder has True Stereo Mic with two directional microphones which are neatly positioned at 90 degrees to each other which ensures that you are able to record an authentic stereo experience. There is also a new Intelligent Auto Mode function which makes it easier for users to automatically adjust the microphone sensitivity according to the volume of the speaker.
